What is T-MBSR?

Trauma-Informed Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

What makes

T-MBSR advances the standard of mindfulness meditation instruction in 2 significant ways:

  1. Trauma-sensitive

  2. Research and Evidence Based

From the class environment, to the structure and progression of the course, to the language used in discussions and in meditation practices, T-MBSR makes every effort to provide a trauma-sensitive experience.

Its developers, Jessica Pavelka and Brandon R. Everett recognize the staggering prevalence of trauma in our nation and across the globe. Knowing the innumerable health benefits of mindfulness and meditation, we have integrated psychology, cutting edge neuroscience, group dynamics and traumatology to provide Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) safely and effectively to trauma survivors.

We acknowledge the standard MBSR curriculum has not changed significantly in nearly 40 years, therefore we strive to prevent re-traumatization by increasing self-efficacy, health, healing, and transformation.
